Another convenience store has been robbed in Cayuga County. This time the 7-11 in Auburn was hit by a suspect who threatened the clerk with a large knife.
Auburn Police say the bandit entered the store on State Street at about 4:45 Wednesday morning and demanded money. The suspect was wielding a blade that was about 18 inches long and made threatening gestures toward the clerk with the weapon.
The clerk complied with demands and handed the cash drawer over to him. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say the suspect is a black male who was wearing a dark hooded jacket, dark pants, a orange hat and a red bandana covering his lower face.
The store clerk wasn't hurt, but police are urging anyone who may have information on the case to contact Captain David Delfavro at 255-4705 or Detective Chris Cooper at 255-4706.
